So I'm sure you were all watching that (he says, implying his readership is in the plural).

Um, wow. Even with the Ryu/Roy leak, that had some surprises. Like the rival series game costumes. OK sure they're only costumes, but you realise it's now possible to have a Ryu vs. Heihachi vs. Akira matchup. OK so the first two were already possible on Street Fighter vs. Tekken, as admittedly were Mega Man and Pacman, but now all this is tied in to both the Virtua Fighter and Smash Bros rosters too. Now, SEGA and Capcom, your next step is to work the Smash Bros universe into another Project X Zone.

But anyway.

Ryu's moveset, huh? Multiple moves for each button mapped to a C-Stick style tap vs. hold mechanism. Stronger B specials activated by inputting their original SFII button combo. Two Final Smashes. People are going to get scary good as this character, I can see Ryu players exploiting the subtle differences between the Smash-moveset and SF2-moveset strengths of the move. Gonna be a bitch to play against.

His stage also looks awesome.

Also impressive, speaking of stages, was the Miiverse stage with character-specific Miiverse posts showing up as you play. I'm sure this will not be abused at all.

This is impressive stuff.

You know you're a western Sega fan when you can name more of the Capcom characters in the upcoming triple crossover mania Project X Zone than the Sega ones. Still, I have to say the prospect of watching Akira and Pai team up with Ryu and Ken is a challenging one. Surely some prodigious beat 'em up action wil--- oh. It's a strategy game. Wow. You may have noticed, oh one person who's still reading this, but I kind of like strategy games. So maybe I should get this when it comes out. It would be nice to get something for my 3DS since Bit.Trip Saga.

It's sad, really. I'd like to use my 3DS more. But the problem is Phoenix Wright games still steadfastly refuse to come out for it yet! I try to tide myself over with the Video Games are Awesome playlists of the first two games
but I'm not sure I want to hear Fraser's Maya or Pearl voices any more. Rest assured either Project X Zone or one of the upcoming Phoenix Wright games will tempt me to reopen the reviews section...

In a smooth and undetectable segue, though, the real news is the Humble Double Fine Bundle. You know who Double Fine is. If you don't, go away. If you didn't spend money on Tim Schafer products before, now is your chance...
